Save vs. Splurge: Spring 2018 Shoe Trends

Who is ready for spring? I know I am! We finally have daffodils blooming here, so I’m hopeful the weather will be starting to warm up soon.

Today I am talking spring shoe trends. Slides, loafers, and mules are all trending this year. Embellishments such as pearls and bows are also being added to footwear this spring.

Below I have featured items for each of these four spring trends. I have Save and Splurge options for every category. All of the Save options are priced under $40. I love when I can get the look for less and bet you do too!

Slides: Slide sandals are very trendy this spring! If you find it hard to find a good fit with strappy or gladiator sandals, then the slide sandal trend may be great for you. I often find that sandals with wider straps create less pressure on my foot. I have a pair of black Franco Sarto Quentin (crisscross) slides from a couple of years ago and was able to wear them right out of the box with no break in period. The pool or athletic slide look is big this spring. I was a little surprised to see this shoe trending, but think it could be a practical sandal for spring and summer. Who remembers wearing the Adidas version back in the 90s??? I toted mine around to all of my college tennis matches.

Vans Slide-On Sandal $29.95 | Tory Burch Lina Slide Sandal $148

Topshop Hawaii Crisscross Sandal $35 | Sam Edelman Gertrude Cross Strap Slide Sandal $79.95

COCONUTS BY MATISSE Cabana Slide Sandal $29.95 | Sam Edelman Gio Slide Sandal $79.95

Loafers: Loafers work well for early spring when the weather is still cool. My favorite of the loafers shown below is the blush pair from Target. I have heard a lot of good things about them on Instagram.

A New Day Women’s Micah Pointy Toe Loafers $22.99 | Me Too Audra Loafer Flat $89.95

A New Day Women’s Jisela Collapsible Back Loafers $27.99 | Dolce Vita Camden $54.99

Mules: Mules are a great transitional shoe for spring. The black A New Day pair below are an inexpensive dupe for the Gucci mules and have lots of positive reviews.

A New Day Women’s Kona Backless Slip On Loafer Mules $22.99 | Gucci Princetown Loafer Mule $680

A New Day Women’s Velma Slip On Pointy Toe Mules $22.99 | Diane von Furstenberg Lexington Suede Slides $248

Embellished Shoes: Bows and pearls are fun embellishments for spring shoes. The bow slides shown below are also available in black if blush isn’t your color.

Mossimo Supply Co. Women’s Julisa Slide Sandals $22.99 | Steve Madden Silky Slide Sandal $39.95

A New Day Women’s Santana Slide Sandal $22.99 | Miu Miu Imitation Pearl Embellished Slide Sandal $775
