Favorite New Things of 2017

2017 started out as a slow year (the last 2 months of pregnancy seem to last FOREVER), and then the second half of the year flew by!

Below I am sharing my favorite new things from 2017. Some of the products have been featured already on the blog this year and others have not. All items are priced below $100.

My new baby boy tops this list. I can’t believe he is getting ready to turn 10 months! He is a cuddly, blue-eyed baby whose first real word was mama.

Lucky Brand Bremma Bootie-I looked for a classic leather bootie for a long time and finally found these Lucky booties at Nordstrom. The leather is very soft, and I was able to wear these boots right out of the box with no rubbing or pain. They run true to size for me. This style is currently part of the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale and is available in Black Leather, Brindle Suede, Moroccan Blue Suede, and Storm Leather.

Chloe + Isabel Retro Glam Square-Cut Crystal Necklace-I received this necklace as a birthday present this year, and I love its sparkle and versatility! It looks great when paired with a graphic tee or a little black dress. I have it in shiny silver (rhodium-plated), but it is also available in an antique brass-plated finish. All Chloe + Isabel jewelry is backed by a Lifetime Guarantee.

Solly Baby Wrap-I purchased this Solly Wrap in the Natural & Gray Stripe pattern to use with my new baby. With my older two boys I never used a wrap, but I am happy with my decision to try one with my third. I used my Solly wrap frequently during my baby’s first 6 months. I used it often when taking my older boys to activities such as swimming lessons or tennis. Baby-wearing was also helpful when taking the boys outside to play or when attending parties. Using the wrap helped keep my baby content (often napping) and allowed me to have my hands free. Solly wraps are made in the USA of 100% certified Lenzing Modal. This material is soft and washes well.

Real Purity Certified Organic High Heat Stick Deodorant-I was looking for an aluminum-free deodorant and decided to try this product from Real Purity. This deodorant contains no mineral oils, alcohol, petrolatum, sulfates, phthalates, parabens, artificial dyes or artificial fragrances. It goes on a little hard at first but softens up with use. Both my husband and I have been using this deodorant with odor-fighting success. Real Purity is also based here in the Midwest which is a plus for me!

Eedor Women’s No Show Socks-I purchased these socks to wear with my booties. They stay in place and do not slip off my heel. I have tried other brands of no show socks and none of them have worked as well as this brand. I have the beige, but they also come in black, white, and gray.

Gather 3D Wooden Word-I ordered this from Joyfully Said Signs to hang above my fireplace. I chose the 40″ size in painted black. This finish is no longer available, but it can be ordered in black, gray, or brown stain. This wooden word can also be ordered unfinished so it can be painted any color you desire. I love the look of this word above my fireplace and that it’s light enough I could hang it with 3M strips!

Adidas Women’s Alphabounce Running Shoe-I wanted a non-brightly colored sneaker that would be comfortable for exercising and look good when styling athleisure outfits. These Adidas sneakers definitely met my expectations. They run big according to both my experience and the reviews I have read, so in these shoes I recommend going at least a half size down from what you typically wear in an athletic shoe.

Yeti Rambler 30 oz Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler with Lid-My husband received this tumbler as a gift earlier this year. I’ll admit I was skeptical about all the hype surrounding Yeti products, but I actually really like this cup. It keeps liquids very cold, and I like the design of the lid and how it fits so well on the cup. This tumbler is double-wall insulated, BPA free, and dishwasher safe.

Herbal Essence Repair Argan Oil Shampoo-This shampoo is paraban and colorant free. It is also safe for color-treated hair. I love that this shampoo is affordable, cleans my hair well, and smells great!

CHI Air Classic Hairstyling Iron 1″-I replaced an old Conair straightener with this Modern Marble CHI straightener. It glides smoothly and does not catch on my hair like my old straightener. It heats up in 30 seconds and has a light that indicates when it’s fully heated. On the 410 degree setting, it straightens my thick, wavy hair very well. This model was advertised on Target’s website to include a heat mat, but when it arrived it included a mini CHI hair dryer and brush instead. I do recommend using a heat mat with this model as it gets pretty hot in my experience when using the hottest setting.
