Budget Beauty Buys

My budget for makeup and beauty supplies has decreased since I became a stay-at-home mom. I used to frequently purchase Clinique products from Macy’s. These products are great, but they sure don’t come cheap. In the past year, I have found some affordable beauty products that have worked wonderfully for me. There are so many products available today that you don’t have to break the bank to look great! If you are on the hunt for some budget-friendly beauty products, I recommend that you check out the following items which are all priced under $12.
Lips:
Burt’s Bees Lip Color Crayon: This 100% natural lip crayon gives you a full coverage matte lip color with no added flavor or fragrance. It is available in the following colors: Sedona Sands, Redwood Forest, Niagara Overlook, Carolina Coast, Hawaiian Smolder, and Napa Vineyard. I love a neutral lip with a hint of pink and purchased the Sedona Sands color.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm: This 100% natural lip balm moisturizes with shea butter and botanical waxes. This lip balm feels great on your lips and provides you with a hint of color. It is available in the following colors: Petunia, Blush Orchid, Hibiscus, Red Dahlia, and Sweet Violet. I have it in Petunia, and it looks great when worn alone or when worn layered over my Sedona Sands Lip Crayon.
eos Mint Lip Balm: This 100% natural lip balm contains shea butter, vitamin E, zinc, and jojoba oil. It is paraben, phthalate, and petrolatum free. I love this Sweet Mint version of the eos lip balm, and my kids like using it too. I feel comfortable applying it to their lips since it phthalate and petrolatum free.
Brows:
L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer: This ultra-fine brow pencil helps give definition to your brows and has a built in blending brush. It is available in the following colors: Blonde, Brunette, and Dark Brunette. I recently started using this pencil in the Dark Brunette shade. I heard it was comparable to the highly rated Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and thought I would give it a try considering its $7.99 price tag.
Face:
Covergirl Trublend Liquid Makeup: This liquid foundation is available in 21 shades and is marketed as being able to match 99% of all skintones. I can honestly say that the Ivory version does match my skintone extremely well, and I am happy with the coverage it gives me.
Covergirl Smoothers BB Cream: This product is a tinted moisturizer that contains sunscreen (SPF 15). It comes in the following shades: Fair to Light, Light to Medium, and Medium to Dark. I started using this product when the weather warmed up last year. I wanted something lighter than foundation and liked that it had a sunscreen component. I initially used the Fair to Light shade and then switched to the Light to Medium shade as the summer progressed.
Burts Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion: This 99% natural face lotion contains Clary Sage and is paraben, phthalate, and petrolatum free. It is a nice, thick lotion and does not irritate my sensitive skin. It absorbs well, and I am able to wear it under my makeup. I even applied it to the tops of my hands last winter to moisturize them while I slept.
I hope you have found some great products here to try. You sure can’t beat the price points!
Today I am linking up with Jo-Lynne Shane and if you are interested in Burt’s Bees products, her Springtime Makeup Tutorial features their new BB Cream and lipstick.
